Removing rust, dirt and paint

Sandblasting is a versatile surface treatment process in which fine abrasives are shot onto materials at high speed. It is ideal for removing dirt, rust or old layers of paint, smoothing or roughening surfaces. It creates the ideal basis for further processing such as painting or coating.

Frequently asked questions about sandblasting

What must not be sandblasted?

Sensitive materials such as thin glass, plastic or soft metals should not be sandblasted, as they could be damaged or deformed by the high pressure. Painted surfaces that are not to be removed should also be avoided.

What are the benefits of sandblasting?

Sandblasting effectively removes rust, dirt, old paint and impurities, smoothes or roughens surfaces and prepares them optimally for subsequent treatments such as painting or coating.

What is the advantage of sandblasting over grinding?

Sandblasting is faster, reaches hard-to-reach areas and provides a more even surface, while sanding requires manual labor and often produces uneven results.
