Frequently asked questions about hydraulic hoses

How long can a hydraulic hose be used?

In Switzerland, there is no specified maximum service life for hydraulic hoses, but the service life depends heavily on the operating conditions. As a rule, it is between 5 and 7 years, but can also be shorter in the case of intensive use or extreme conditions. It is important that hoses are checked regularly for wear, cracks, leaks and other damage. The age of the hose also plays a role. Many manufacturers recommend replacing hoses after 10 years at the latest, regardless of their condition, in order to avoid failures and safety risks.

Can a hydraulic hose be repaired?

Yes, minor damage such as leaking connections can be repaired, but in the case of major damage such as cracks, the hydraulic hose must be replaced to ensure safety.
